Special Meeting considers terms for street railways – April 25, 1895

The object of the meeting was to consider the agreements for the leasing of the following streets for street railway purposes viz:- Hastings Street between Carrall and Cambie Streets, Granville Street from Cordova to Robson, Robson from Granville to Denman Street, Denman from Robson to Alberni, Alberni from Denman to Chilco and Chilco north to the Park Bridge.

Vancouver April 25th 1895

The Council met on Thursday April 25 at 8 P.M.

Present: His Worship, the Mayor and Aldermen Shaw, Coupland, Queen, Gallagher, McCraney McPhaiden, Wm Brown, Thomas, Bethune, and W.P. Brown, also the City Solicitor and F.S. Barnard, Manager of the Consolidated Railway and Light Co.

The object of the meeting was to consider the agreements for the leasing of the following streets for street railway purposes viz:- Hastings Street between Carrall and Cambie Streets, Granville Street from Cordova to Robson, Robson from Granville to Denman Street, Denman from Robson to Alberni, Alberni from Denman to Chilco and Chilco north to the Park Bridge.

Resolved.

That the Council go into Committee of the Whole for consideration of the agreements.

The Mayor was appointed Chairman

The agreements were read over clause by clause and reported to Council as complete with amendments.

That the report from the Committee of the Whole be adopted.
