The Council met on Friday December 30th 1887 at 7.30.p.m.
Present His Worship Mayor MacLean, Aldermen Alexander, Clark, Hamilton, Humphries, Lefevre, Mannion, D. Oppenheimer, Isaac Oppenheimer and Sanders.
The minutes of last meeting were read and adopted.
Communications
From Giles and Howard asking permission to occupy a portion of the Street for the purpose of mixing mortar.
Petition refused.
From Fred Munro, drawing the attention of the Council to the employment of Chinese on the Gravel contract.
Moved by Alderman Hamilton seconded by Alderman I. Oppenheimer,
“That the matter be referred to the Contractor to make the necessary explanation to Council.”
