His Worship stated the object of the meeting after which the amendments as prepared by the Charter Committee were taken up clause by clause and amended where considered necessary and finally adopted and ordered to be forwarded to one of our Representatives at Victoria.

Moved by Alderman Horne seconded by Alderman McConnell.

Whereas the Exhibit prepared and sent to the Industrial Exhibition at Toronto and London in Ontario was a decided success resulting in a great advantage to the whole Province by bringing prominently before our fellow subjects of the Eastern part of Canada its great Agricultural and mineral resources.

And whereas said Exhibit being a first attempt in the direction of showing the natural capabilities of British Columbia was not supported as generally throughout the Province as its importance demanded

And whereas the good results flowing from it have inspired our fellow citizens throughout the Province with a desire to repeat it on a more extended scale.

And whereas the experience gained last year by His Worship the Mayor in preparing and forwarding such Exhibit point to him as the best person to initiate and organize a Provincial Commission to obtain a full and complete exhibit on a much larger scale to be sent forward this year.

Therefore be it resolved by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vancouver in Council assembled.

That the sum of $50.00 be placed at the disposal of His Worship the Mayor to enable him to take the necessary steps to organize a Provincial Commission for the purpose of preparing a full Exhibit of the Mineral, Forest and Agricultural Resources of our Province with exhibits of its Fisheries, Manufactories and other Industries. Carried.
