Vancouver Jan 2nd 1888

The New Council met in the City Hall on Monday January 2nd 1888 at 12 o’clock, Noon.

Present His Worship Mayor Oppenheimer, Presiding, Aldermen Alexander, Brighouse, Bell-Irving, Couth, Dougall, Humphries, Mannion and Oppenheimer.

His Worship opened the proceedings with a lengthy address in which he made many suggestions for the government and direction of the Council in the matter of improvements for the Coming Year.

The following Standing Committees were struck for the year on motion of Alderman Oppenheimer, Seconded by Alderman Mannion.
