The Council met on Monday January 13th 1896 at 11 a.m.
Present His Worship the Mayor and Aldermen Shaw, Coupland, Gallagher, Brown, Bethune, McPhaiden, Clandening + McDonald

The minutes of last meeting were read and adopted

Water and Light Committee

The Water + Light Committee met on Wednesday January 8th a896.
Present Aldermen Brown Bethune Coupland
The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted.

Communications
From Norman McLean complaining of insufficient water supply on Fifth Avenue, Fairview and asking for a rebate of three dollars.
Referred to the City Engineer

The following accounts were recommended for payment:
