The New Council met on Monday January 17th 1898 at 12pm
Present: His Lordship James F. Garden, Aldermen Thomas O. Townley, H.J. Painter, James McQueen, Thomas F. Neelands, D. McPhaiden, W.J. McGuigan, C.F. Foreman, R.A. McMorran and Alex Bruce. Alderman William Brown was absent.
Moved by Alderman McQueen; Seconded by Alderman Townley
That the Council stand adjourned to Thursday the 20th instant at 4 pm, out of respect to the memory of the late Mayor Templeton.
Carried.
