Vancouver June 29th 1893

A special meeting of the Council was held on Thursday June 29th 1893 at 4 p.m. for the purpose of considering the advisability of making an offer for the purchase of the Street Railway.
Present His Worship the Mayor and Alderman Anderson, Salsbury, Collins, Hackett, McCraney, Hackett [sic] Franklin and Towler.

Seconded by “ Collins
That a conditional offer be made for the Street Railway.

That a letter be written to Mssrs Courbould McColl, Wilson + Campbell, Solicitors for the Vancouver Loan, Trust, Savings and Guarantee Co. Ltd in answer to the advertisement calling for tenders: That the Council are prepared to place a By-Law before the citizens without delay to provide the sum of $360,000 to purchase the assets (free from incumbrances) of the Vancouver Electric Railway + Light Co. Ltd.
