A Special Meeting of the Council was held on the 18th of June.

Present His Worship the Mayor and Aldermen Painter, McQueen, Neelands, McPhaiden, Clandenning, Brown, W. S. MacDonald, D. G. McDonald and Coldwell; also the City Solicitor and Messrs Symons, Cargill and Griffiths.

The object of the meetings was to consider a proposition from Mr. Symons for the erection of a smelter in the vicinity of Vancouver.

He asked for a bonus of $65,000.

No action was taken

The council then adjourned.
