Vancouver March 23rd 1889

A Special Meeting of the City Council was held on Saturday March 23rd 1889 at 4 P. M. for the purpose of appointing a Committee to go to Victoria with a view of getting the amendments to the Charter passed.

Present His Worship the Mayor, Aldermen Brewer, Clark, Costello, Oppenheimer and Salsbury.

Although there was no quorum the importance of the matter demanded that immediate action should be taken.

It was therefore moved by Alderman Oppenheimer seconded by Ald Costello. That His Worship the Mayor and Alderman Salsbury and Lefevre and Dr. McGuigan be appointed a Committee to go to Victoria to interview the members of the Legislature with a view of getting the Charter Amendments passed. Carried.

The Council then adjourned.
