Vancouver March 24th 1888
A Special meeting of the City Council was called for Saturday March 24th 1888 to take into consideration the proposed loan By-Law and the striking of the rate of taxation for the current year.
Present His Worship Mayor Oppenheimer, Aldermen Bell-Irving, Clark, Couth, Dougall, Humphries, Lefevre, Mannion, and Oppenheimer.
His Worship the Mayor explained the object of the meeting and after considerable discussion it was moved by Alderman Bell-Irving seconded by Alderman Clark. That further discussion of the loan By-Law and rate to be struck, be postponed until Monday next so as to enable the Chairman of the Finance Committee to be present. Carried.
The meeting then adjourned.
