Vancouver Sept 20th 1898
The Council held a special meeting on Tuesday September 20th 1898 at 3 p.m.
Moved by Alderman Brown
Seconded by Alderman Foreman
We the Mayor and the Council of Vancouver assembled having heard of the sudden death of Ex. Alderman C.L. Brown of this City desire to place on record the deep sorrow which we all feel at his premature demise and the great loss which the community has suffered by the death of a public spirited and upright citizen we desire to convey to his widow and family our sincere sympathy with them in their present affliction.

That the Mayor and Council meet as a body at the undertaking parlor of Kemp Simpson at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and accompany the remains to the Cemetery.
