The Standing Committees for 1895 were established, in spite of a dispute about whether Alderman McCraney or Alderman McPhaiden would sit on the Standing Committee on Works. The Health, Water and Light Committee, the Fire, Market and Police Committee, the Finance Committee were formed without amendment. William, an elderly resident, asked Council to help him get his shack onto dry ground on the shores of False Creek. Aldermen Queen and Gallagher made a motion to refer the job to the Chain Gang to be carried out.
